Due to my AR15.com account taking more time to approve than I would like, I have a question for anyone with an AR or AR experience. I want to switch out my dust cover for a laser engraved custom one, however my dust cover hinge pin is not a typical one with an E clip. Mine has a "fat" end that prevents it from going back towards the butt of the gun. I have asked the manufacturer of the gun and they have told me that I have to remove the barrel of the gun to replace that piece. My thought would be to "carefully" cut that rod off, and install a new one with a removable E clip on it. Any input would be appreciated as I think it is ridiculous to have to remove the barrel for that simple fix. Attachment 125018
