The peaches are on at my house. Mainly canning, and preserves.Does anyone have any good peach recipes? Lookin for a realy good cobbler recipe. How about peach wine? Gonna try a peach preserve with halapino peppers. Was told it goes very well with fowl. I grow mainly New Haven, and Elberta. Are there any better ones for a northern climate? I can get frost as late as may 10th.
You just had to go and make my mouth start waterin'. First thing in the morning too! Dad used to have a big ole peach tree in the back yard that would put out just bushels of those fine, sweet, ripe succulent fruits that we turned into peach pies, cobblers and ice cream.
I never had a "recipe" just did it according to feel, if ya know what I mean.

Read the reviews on them, sometimes you can change something just a little bit and it makes all the difference in the world. The wife usually does it like the recipe says and if it is not acceptable she will alter it the next time. Hope this helps you...

We had two Reliance trees that had heavy yields until the borers got them.I'm hoping to plant more next year since we've waited for several years to break the cycle. We also have late frosts here in Zone 5, but that variety is supposed to be the most cold resistant Ours even survived a -25 degree weekend in 1994.
When it comes to cobbler, I just use my usual pie crust and season with a touch of nutmeg. Yummy with vanilla ice cream. - Roberta
This is a simple side dish when grilling.....Cut the peaches in half and take the seed out. Lay them on a plate and coat with olive oil and sprinkle with salt,both sides. Throw them on the grill until they just start getting a little soft.
This sounded wierd to me at first and my wife MADE me try them. I LOVE EM!
Something obout the sweet salty grilled flavor. MMM MMM!

Follow what Gilly has above...then chill the grilled peaches....Drizzle chilled grilled peaches with balsamic vinegar and then crumble Blue Cheese over them...
Cut peaches in half and remove seed. Place in a muffin pan with the inside up. Fill hole where seed was removed with brown sugar. Place in 350 degree oven for 10 minutes remove and cover with cool whip.
Or instead of serving with cheese and balsamic vinegar, puree the grilled peaches in the blender, then add milk, ice cream, and bourbon. Best darn milkshake you'll ever taste. :DQuote:
