798/788 question

I have a question about the 798 s/I and the 788 combo ,Do they use the same mounting bracket ,ive been offered what I think is a good deal on 798 with a broken mounting bracket and I have a 788ci combo are they the same size unit and will the bracket off the 788 work for the 798, if not how much would a bracket cost me ,thanks

Yes, they are the same. Power cable is the same also. In fact, you could plug the 798 onto your mount and it will operate in the 2D sonar mode using the 788 transducer.

Now if one of those were a “HD” model, that would change things but only a little. The “HD” labeled units have a different set of unit connections on them and so need a different set of metal and plastic connector collector holder pieces. Otherwise the mounts are interchangeable.
