I just started making inline crappie spinners. I havent gotten all my components yet. What happens if I use 2 clevises instead of a double. Will the blades bind or spin? Could a bead between clevises do any good?

Fin I've made spinners since the 80's and have learned a few things. You can use two clevis's but make sure to use metal beads between them.
There is a book by Harold Blaisdell "fishing with worms and other live bait", and in it he talks about about spinner making, he started out using spacers with a metal bead and two clevis's but then found that he wanted a metal bead on the wire. He got some acid from a hardware store which he says "prepares stainless steel" wire for soldering - but it still wasn't working until he used 3 turns of fine copper wire, put a drop of acid on it then a drop of solder and it made for a sold metal bead on the wire.
I use small metal beads for mine, as I don't want to mess with soldering - and for small spinners I use folded clevis's instead of stirrup clevis's. You might have to try both ways to see which will work best for you.
