Hds 7 gen1
I loaded some way points into my hds unit a couple of days ago. I just took it out to hook it up and it will not boot up. It goes to a whiteish blue screen with vertical bars from top to bottom of display. Tried soft and hard reset with no luck. Help please.

Had the same issue with mine. Returned it to Lowrance and they replaced it. Couldn't offer any explanation, and apologized for the trouble. Had a different unit shipped to me within 4 days.

This is out of warranty, they want me to pay $600 for a new hds 7 gen1 or $1200 for a 7gen2 touch. Ridiculous! This unit is hardly used, stored inside when not in use and is treated with kid gloves. Boots up, goes thru all the functions properly but the screen just has vertical lines running thru it. Attachment 123641

Man that's terrible, and doesn't bode well for their customer service. These units are way to pricey if there is no expectation they can be repaired after a two year warranty. I would probably call them back and demand to speak with someone higher up and threaten to voice your displeasure on numerous fishing related sites. They should at least offer a better price for a replacement. I bought a HDS 7 Gen 2 before Christmas for $650! After the mail in rebate.
