Lowrance instructions bite.

Ok. I've got the new HDS 7 installed with the SS.
I also have the HDS 5 installed up front and not networked together. Yet.

I pulled all my data (waypoints) off my old LMS 332 onto a SD card finally and now don't have any idea how to move it to my new 7. There is nothing in the book I've found to tell me how to do this.
Do I just stick the card in and turn the unit on?

Here comes some more.

I'll be connecting the 5 to the structure scan also as soon as the cable arrives.
Both the units and Structure Scan are connected to the same power switch. The yellow (wake up) wire on the 7 and SS are connected together. This all works fine.
My question is. Do I also have to connect the yellow wire from the 5 ?
My plans when I get this all buttoned up are to switch the 5 & 7 on the same switch. Then switch the SS seperately so I don't have to have that running at all times.
What's your thoughts?

I connected only the HDS unit and LSS-1 at the console with Yellow. If they are all going to be on the same switch, you don't really need the yellow connected, if you are assuming that when the switch is powered on, you want the LSS on.

I do that a lot. You are the best manual though. Good to know where to go, easy to learn from just going through the pages and looking at the menus.

I understand that. Sitting in my boat in the garage playing with my thing :yikesis the best way to learn. Other then being on the water playing. Today I just kind of got fed up.

Now that I got that figured out. :biggrin

When I connect the 5 to the SS. Will that mean the two graphs are networked together so they both have all of the same information. Or do I also have to use network cables so they work as a pair?

Absolutely need network cables. Not at another 75 or 80 dollars.
I'll have to figure out how to switch the front graph between the US2 on the trollimg motor and the Lss2 on the structure scan.

Your instructions where exactly what I needed. Althought the menu was ta tad different on my graphs. Some common sense and a lotta luck really helps.

My HDS 5 is connected to a LG3000 puck. I don't believe the graph recoganizes the puck.
I looked in the Chart, System, GPS on both the HDS 5 and the HDS 7. Both say the exact samt thing.
What or how do I figure out if the puck is being recoganized.
Kind of cool though.
Sitting inside my garage with the graphs on. Both of them show me exactly where I'm at. And one has seven sattelites and the other has six.

Is the 5 mounted in dash? Is the 3000 mounted over your transducer? Other wise there is no reason to use a LGC3000 on any HDS unit. The internal antenna on HDS units are as good as a 3000, if you want an improvement go with a Point-1 or a LGC4000.

No, the graph is at the bow and the puck is there also. I did it that way so I have a choice of using the transducer in the trolling motor or, using the structure scan at the back of the boat.
I read somewhere how you check to see if the puck is being recoganized or not. I guess I'm guess I'm not looking in the rite place.
