Lowrance Point 1

I am looking to install a remote GPS antenna on my HDS system and have been waiting for this Point 1 to be released. Does anyone know if this new Point 1 antenna will work with a 1st Generation HDS-8. Can someone please give me some information on how it connects. I am using an HDS-8 connected with a LSS-1 structure scan - what will I need to purchase to connect this antenna into my system?

There has been a lot of discussion on BBC about that. I get the impression it will work with a Gen1. I have mine, but I haven't installed it yet.

I was told that it would work but would require a firmware update.
