Poppin Bug

http://www.crappie.com/crappie/attac...s-dscn1566.jpg Finally got to catch a few on my new 4 wt Wind river from Cabelas. I found that the longer the tippid the harder it is to cast. Maybe its just me. It was very windy

nice fish, I hope to try this weekend for some on my fly rod.

Longer tippets are harder to cast. Also, your tippet might be too light for the size bug you're using. For most popping bugs, I'd use 3X at least.

Im just learning about tippits,all I used before is about 4 lb test mono.

A good, tapered leader will help a lot. Try some of these. Get a 7.5' 2X and a 7.5' 3X and see which works better.
