just wondering if most folks would be dropping jigs in or near the bank for spawning fish, or would you continue to spider rig?
thanks

I wouldn't limit myself to either. A lot of variables depending on what body of water you are fishing
All I can say is that today I spider rigged in 30 fow and found them. Every lake or river may not hold true to this though.
We caught 34 today in 35 fow fishing about 8' deep longlining jigs.
I have a feeling that they were deep on thick structure here today, but I suspect they will be moving.
Yeah I would start deep then go shallow....
Depends on water temp and water levels. Nimrod could be tough with 13' above normal spring level. There are hundreds of acres of flooded woods for them to scatter out in now.
Not all lakes will be the same. With a few warm days and water temps rising fish will be feeling that urge . Afraid some lakes will be experiencing falling water unless we get more rain. I have found even when fish start moving in some always lag behind in deeper water.
thanks. the place i'll fish today is about 8 feet max, so i'll start in the brush. thanks again.
update - started in the brush and only caught a bass. went to the middle of the reservoir and started spider riggin. caught 26 before i quit. most were on minnows using a c@c type rig but also caught several using crappie thunder jigs. thanks for the responses.
