I just purchased an elite 7 hdi. I took it out to the lake on Mon and I couldn't figure out how to use then chart. When it comes on it shows a map of the US. I used the button to zoom in to 50ft but I could not figure out how to show my actual position. I have never used a chart before and the lowrance user guide is not very informative. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I also just used my new Elite 7 and as for the gps the screen that first comes up is where it was when it was turned off. I had to zoom out to see my location then move the verticle and horizontal lines to where i was then zoom in. You may have to do this a couple of times, but once you get your acuall location zoomed in on the screen it will work great and follow you anywhere until it is powered off again. At least this was my experience but im no expert by any means. I'm still trying to get the DI screen to clear up, but the sonar seemed to work ok. Hope this helps
Go to chart and hit menu. At the top hit return to vessel.
