Lake Beaver crappie masters tourney
I'm a wore out puppy driving nearly 500 miles total in the last two days traveling to the tournament and back. Thunderstorm, wind and more rain than you can shake a stick at during the tourney. The tourney was a benefit tourney for the Children's Miracle Network, sponsored by Wal-Mart, raising several thousands of dollars for this great charity. Crappie Masters brought out all the stops and invited some of toughest gunslingers on the tournament trail to include National champions, state and ultimate pole champions coupled with locals for a combined reported 66 teams to compete. But at the end of the day, Jason Westerberg and dad Jim took home top honors winning first. What a tough field to win in with the high level of Pro's all competing on one lake. Good job Jason! As for Team Midsouth, we fell short of Jason and finished 10th out of 66 teams. Rough conditions and extremely tough competition makes me proud that 2 top 10 teams came from right here in central Arkansas!
A big thanks to LrJoe, who played like a pro with us on this tournament and kept us in line while on Beaver Lake. A stand up guy who can catch fish with the best of them. And can sure put the 14 foot ozark rods to a challenge landing 20lb stripers, lol! Thanks again for everything Joe!
