I have a 798 with SI/DI and 2d. Question is this. I know my DI and SI will not work with the US2, but Will my 2D work with the US2 transducer built in a terrova? 2nd question. if it will....,will it work just as good as the big transducer?

should and no, think of all the things you'll miss just a few feet to the side or better definition of what's below you.
It will work, mine worked good. I got an adaptor for it I'll make ya a deal on if you need it.

I swap my 798 between boats, use it with a dual beam transducer 200/83. and it works fine. I believe the US2 is a 200/83 also.
I have been told that u could mess up the unit (if it's a di/si unit) and u use the us2.

If it were a DI sonar model you could, but the SI/Di units are okay with it. Just remember to change the Transducer Select (also called Connected Transducer) menu.Quote:
