herd last night that the lake is muddy . creeks may be clearing . i would try smoke bridge or cedar creek if i were going . think the water is to cool planning on going after Easter . around the 8 th for several dayes if weather permits.
thanks for the info. My fishing buddy and I are planning on going up to blackshear on friday the 4th ,can you tell me anything about the fishing other than to use one of the funky jigs? I have heard some good reports about lake talquin but I haven't heard anything about blackshear which is only 30 miles away.
haven`t ben in a while but will be there sunday till thursday . looks like the weather will be good those dayes .don`t know about friday with all the fresh water .should be in good shape by monday or tuesday.
talquin is a good big fish lake with the 25 limit and a 10 inch length
The crappie have been on fire at Blackshear the last week or so. I had one of my best day yet this past Monday. Cought around 45 and kept 30 really nice slabs with the largest at 14in. Cought all of them shooting docks. The surface temp has been around 60 to 63 degrees. The hottest color is still the R.A.G. Fly bubble gum which is chartruse head/pink body/chartruse tail. Good luck.
ok thanks for the info. I just looked in my jig box and as usual i do not have any bubble gum jigs, but I will see if there is some around the warwick area.;)
Heading out for blackshear
