Floater fishing and casting next week
I'm sorta new to the board but occasionally read posts and you guys are great about sharing information. This has probably already been hashed out on here before but I was needing some advise on floater fishing and straightline casting banks if you all think they might be moved up by next week. We've gotten pretty good at longline trolling and that's about all my step dad wants to do. We can usually find some fish that way, but there's nothing like watching that floater go under and feeling that tap on the line when casting. I'm wanting to get him some experience casting instead of just watching a rod tip all day.
What type of shoreline/structure do yall look for? How deep do you float fishermen typically rig your floaters or would I be better off trying to find them casting? Reel it slow or pop the floater? I'm pretty much a jig only dude so do yall use both curly tails and tubes? Roadrunners or straight up jigs?
Ole Guide seems to be more of a "caster" so maybe he can help us out some but I know there are some other floater/casting experts out there.
Can't wait to get down there for a week. We have a camper down around the Paris Landing area but will travel for good floater banks.
Thanks for the info and if yall need any help with longline trolling let me know.
