I'm looking at installing a new unit up front....either DI or SI. I know I need to use a separate power source for the sonar and that made me wonder if I will see interference if the wiring for the sonar is inside the same conduit as the wiring for my trolling motor. Dumb question?
you might, but might not. If you can run another set of +/- wires up to the front without much trouble but on the opposite side of the boat from the TM wires, that will reduce the possibility of interference. I ran a new set of power wires up to the front under the floor of my Tracker PT175 under the floor a couple of years ago. You can use one of those wire snakes/puller that electricians use to see if your boat has the open space to do it fairly easily
