Now that I have damaged my new transducer cable and spliced it. We tried to do a good job.The questions are :
1- will it damage my new unit?? It's brand new...
2-will I know if its not working correctly?
3- would I be better off just buying a new transducer?
Some of you are very smart when it comes to electronics.... not me!!!!!!!

That is a good question but first run a unit test and see if the transducer is working.
I seriously doubt it could have been repaired "good as new". Could it work good as new? Probably, but you will never know unless you have another unit to compare it too. I'd buy a new one, compare the two, and if the old one worked okay, keep it as a spare.
Few years ago I repaired 2 or 3 ,just make sure that no ground wires touch any other wires,they work fine,don,t know if cables are made like older ones but probably are.
CanePole repaired one for my nephew 4 years ago. Still works fine...
If you spliced it back correctly it will work “good as new”.
If you didn’t splice it back correctly it may not work and/or it may cause damage to your unit.
The only way to know is to hit the water and try it.
