keeping filets fresh

If I clean fish and put the filets in baggies and ice down in an ice chest how long will they keep? I plan on camping for a week and wanted to keep some fish to bring home but I was worried that the filets won't stay fresh in the ice chest for four or five days. I have a couple of the 7-day ice chests that with block and crushed ice keep ice for at least 4 or 5 days plus I can top off with more crushed ice if needed.

The ideal situation would be to ask an owner of a bait shop or an local of the area your fishing if you could bag and use their freezer to preserve your catch til your ready to transport. If not I would feel safe with 3 days probably ....Ranger
