Best electronics for the money?

Wanting a good "fish finder" with GPS that shows your tracking.

What is the best for the money without spending 2K?

And do they make a way to have it on the transom and then swith to the trolling motor when you have it down?

You can get a whole lot of tronics for 2K. I like Lowance's screen for sonar better and Humminbirds tracking on GPS better. Good luck whatever you decide on, they both are great. With that budget get as much screen as you can for the bucks, you'll never reget it.

Like Rees said. It depends a lot on what you want out of your electronics. Is GPS more important than DI or Side imaging? If you just want GPS and 2d sonar get the biggest Humminbird you can afford. For clarity of DI and SI plus 2 d then largest Lowrance you can afford preferably An HDS unit.

I don't want to spend $2K on a unit, or even $1K.

Heck my boat ain't worth that. lol

There is one heck of a used 2d sonar unit in the classifieds right now, if my situation had been different I would have snagged it quick. LCX 27c for 300 bucks, sold new for around 1000.
