998 si mounted
Ok got the 998 si mounted and i hope the foot on my motor doesnt block the left side of my image ,now I have a 788 ci combo and ive bought a trolling motor quad beam transducer last year would it be worth putting it on the front or should I just sell the unit and just recoup some of my money back...Whats your opinion ..

If you sell the 788 ....what unit will you use while fishing at the bow...??
The sonar info garnered at the transom mounted 998 will be 20ft behind you (while standing on the bow) before it even shows on the 998...

if the big motor blocks a portion of the image on the left side, just raise/tilt the motor up a bit until the image clears up. Not a biggie.

No problems with the side imaging ,but problem reading depth at 25 to 30 mph ,any suggestions

When I first got mine I discovered that it would not read sometimes when I was trying to plane out when turning. I could regain bottom reading after letting off then accelerating again while not turning.
Try that

Those big SI transducers are not designed to work at hi speed, you will need a thru hull transducer , that's what humminbird customer service told me

ive got an aluminum boat will the ducor off the 788 ci work if I buy a switch for it or will it just hook up and I can use both
-
will the transducer off the 788ci work on my 998 without the switch or do I need the switch to go between the transducer for running high speeds the depth doesn't read good at 25 to 30 mph ,I have a quad beam I use on the trolling motor for my 788 ci combo

Yes, the standard DualBeam transducer that comes with the 788ci unit will work with the 998c Si unit. You can use a TS3 Transducer Switch or the AS-Si-DB-Y cable (less expensive, easier to install and no switches to flip).

Is that the extra cable that came with the 998 ci
