Reelfoot Upper Blue ?
Heading down in a few weeks for 5 days of fishing, this will be my 7th trip to Reelfoot lake. Been all over the lake but never seem to make it to the upper blue. Can anyone tell me alittle about the area. i have ran up there once a couple of years ago seemed like most of the boats where picking stumps and not out in the open water.
im trying to decide if i should try to spend a day up there or not.
Thanks from Indiana cant wait to get there..

Spent some time there last year. Fishin' them stumps takes patience. Haven't mastered it yet. We've always had good luck in the lower blue, especially with slabs.
We're headin' there next week wednesday. Hopefully before the shad hatch! Last year the bait was all over the place. The ones we caught had bellies full of shad. Avoid that and you're in luck!

If you go up around the Air Park there is 2 ramps that are nice. One is before the Air Park. The other is on Grays Drive just past Gray's camp

I have fished the Upper Blue many times over the years. I have had my best crappie day ever fishing the Upper Blue and Buck Basin we had a livewell full with a bunch of 2 pounders. I have also been to the Blue and had horrible days even trips at least as far as fish caught. I guess thats fishing.
You can spider rig there jig stumps and pads. You can also long line troll. There was an article in the latest issue of Crappie Angler trolling bobbers. I thought I was the only one that fished like that, lol not really but I don't see anyone doing it and it works.
