Took my 8 year old son to catch some crappie this morning and he got to use his new ultralight to do some jig fishing. I was really proud of him as he caught the first 3 of our fish while jig fishing for the first time. These ranged from 10 -12". Not the greatest catch, but I'm not sure who had more fun....him catching them or me watching him! :highfive

He even helped me clean them! He got the ultralight from his sister as an early birthday present and last night he let us know that he wants to add some crappie fishing "stuff" to his birthday wish list so I think he is hooked! We are now planning a trip later this spring for a weekend when our other son can come home from college and we can all go.
Doesn't get much better than that Griz. Had a flashback of the first time I took two of my sons crappie fishing. Between rigging and etc. For my oldest and taking minnows out of the mouth of his younger brother I didn't do a lot of fishing myself so in other words it was a great day and 25 years or so later an even better memory around the dinner table. Way to go Dad!
