Keep a fishing journal. I write down where I fish, water temp, color jigs used, depth water fished, depth caught fish, speed, and number kept fish. It is nice to use as a reference when deciding where and when to fish bodies of water.

I keep an excel spread sheet for a journal. I usually take notes on my phone and transfer them to excel. I can do all kinds of things with excel data and putting it into a tables, charts, and statistics, has greatly increased my hunting / fishing sucess.
I started keeping one in 2006. Has been very valuable throughout the years.
