WI High School State Ice Fishing Tournament
The WI State High School Ice Fishing Championship was held last Sat. at TJ’s Harbor Restaurant in Oshkosh. With over 30 teams participating, having 10 person teams, weighing in 10 fish per team, New Holstein 1 finished in first place with
11.57 lbs, followed by Chilton with 10.98lbs, and Omro with 10.49lbs to round out the top three places. The largest catch and release of the day went to Jill Diedrich who spent over 3 hours fighting and landing a 69 inch sturgeon with a HT Shiver Stick Jigging Pole with 4 lb test line. She didn’t think she would make it to the event after fracturing her elbow the night before, but her minnow tipped Rapala gave her a fish story of a lifetime. Thanks to HT Enterprises, Frabill, TJ’s
Harbor Restaurant, Battle on Bago, and all those that helped make this event possible. See more at The Official Wisconsin High School Ice Fishing Webpage - Home
