And tip with minnows when the bite slows
When you tip them with a minnow do you hook it through the lips or through the back?
Some boys from Oklahoma had their double limit Saturday throwing 1/16th oz jig head with kalin's bleeding Tennessee shad grub....fishing brush piles counting down 12 seconds.....west fork self creek and rock creek......I didn't see them Sunday afternoon.....but conditions only got better.....they didn't have any minnows........all I can tell u....
I've heard some have had good luck where the river enters. On brush....also heard they were doing well in the west fork of self creek as well. The crappie guides there use mainly minnows. But the place to get them is at the marina, so if you can't get them to bite your jigs you can always pull in for some real quick.
I use a 2" Tennesee Shad Twrl tail jig with a 1/32 or 1/16 white head on Greeson in April . Cast to the bank and slooooow roll out to about 12 fow. WORKS
I perfer minners on Greeson. But, my experience during the Spring is limited on this lake. The flats in the upper end of Self or Bear creeks should be picking up soon. If you can catch Jerry at Self Creek marina, he will not steer you wrong. Crappie Fishing Guide Jerry Blake And Friends - Lake Greeson Arkansas Fishing Guide Service

I imagine like you slow roll a spinner bait...throw bait to bank or structure and crank it back just slow enough to track with the bottom or whatever depth you are trying to maintain...the closer it comes to you the slower you reel and normally the deeper the bait gets...anyway that is what I think slow rolling is...
