Awesome hushpuppies

Hello, I am a newby to crappie.com but not to crappie fishing. I really like this website. I have a great hushpuppy recipe that I want to share. Ingredients are two eggs beaten,1/4 cup sugar,one small to medium onion chopped,one cup self rising yellow cormmeal,one cup self rising flour,one can 14.75oz of cream style corn. Mix it all together and drop it in the oil one spoonful at a time. Cook until golden brown. I like to take half the mix and add chopped jalopenos. I will post pics when I figure out how. I am still learning.

Use that same recipe. Next time you make them, put all your ingredients but the corn in a food processor and blend the heck out of it then add your corn. You will be amazed how much smoother your hushpuppies will be.

I actually did try that,to me it changed the thickness and made the mixture too watery and I had to add more cornmeal. Just didn't work for me.Maybe if I use the food processor on everything except the onions it might work for me.

Use green onions in same proportion, mixing tops and bottoms for color- we find it just as good with a better presentation.

4 of us tried these yesterday, and everyone liked them! The other 3 eating got a copy of the recipe. I thought the mix was a bit thin at 1st as well, and used a melon-baller to drop it in the oil, but they fried-up dang near perfectly round.

I will be giving this recipe a go. Sounds good.
