Will a larger (higher capacity) chip cause a handheld to scroll more slowly?
I have a Garmin GPSmap 76 Cx. I recently swapped the Topo map for the Inland Lakes map. The old map was on a 1 gig chip. The new one is on a 16 gig chip.
I loaded only the maps for Missouri and surrounding states. I noticed that scrolling in noticably slower with the new map/chip. Could that be a result of the unit having to scan a higher capacity chip... even though the file sizes are similar? If so, I'll get a smaller capacity chip and reload the maps? (Both maps were loaded to the microchip using the CD and Mapsource)
