I have been finding some gpod thumps in low light conditions with the BG Glow head, Heres a few from yesterday evening caught them with a wht/chart slabbuster verticle jigging shallow around weeds/docks. You really haft to Pick the cover apart to get bit... but when you do hold on. Just about every trip been catching some good thumpers on Conway.

CrappiePro- How shallow? not wanting honey holes just your thought process when you caught those. With the cool water I would "think" deep. Channels/ledges and structure in deeper water. What made you decide to fish the way you did?
Im just trying to make myself a better angler by picking up tricks along the way, thats all im inquiriung about.

Good Question Tom...Several years ago I decided to fish this isolated area of the lake known to have a good shad run and crappie run (migration) year end and year out. The area is not deep in general and gets allot of pressure during the day so the fish take advantage of the security of the low light bite to feed very shallow on the banks in water 3 feet or less. The area has allot of bank cover available for crappie to ambush prey. There are many contributeing factors but to keep things simple...just remember this...Lowland Res..Isolated area with allot of daytime pressure.. known daytime crappie bite...good population of shad can mean a better dusk , dawn or night bite right on the bank in available cover. When I fish this pattern I ussually most always never have more than two feet of line hanging from the tip of my jig pole or my bobber set more than two feet deep casting along or at the bank.
