I'm wondering what FF anglers think the advantages/disadvantages are of using both. I've learned about the color FF that the darker the red of the bottom means it's a harder bottom, such as clay. I have a 365i GPS?FF Combo Humminbird and the darker the grey/black means the harder bottom. Would it be an advantage to upgrade to a color FF?

I don't know, I kind of skipped the whole color thing until I upgraded to a HDS unit.
If you already have a good grasp of what you're looking at w/ B&W, I don't think color would matter that much.

Color is soooooo much easier to see on bright sunny days. I know I'll never go back to a monochrome unit.
Color is like night and day a big difference.
i have both on my boat up front i have the color and at the helm i have b/w. i also still have 5 lowrance blue water flashers 2 1510 paper grafts 3 1510 b 2 x15 1sitex and love the way they print. and all still work fine its getting harder to fine belts and paper for them although i have a lot for the lowrances the sitex almost inpossible like a dinosaur fossil if you find a roll of sitex paper its like winning the power ball lottery .man f/fers have come a long long ways sens 70s i was running the paper all the way up maybe 2005 and it was fun to pull to the dock after a day on the water and some one would ask me whats that big tv looking thing on your boat i would tell them its a paper graft and they would say never seen one is it some thing new yep where you get it basspro shopp got them and wal mart got them to .
