Water clarity
Water clarity is something I know nothing about. I am going say the about three different stages if water clarity. clear, stained and muddy. I know what I call muddy or milky. But what do you call stained and how do determine it stained and not just clear. I took this off the G&F fishing report " water clarity is about 2 feet of visibility ". So is this clear or lightlystained? Will someone give me clarification.

Water clarity
You will know the clarity, or turbidity of the water as soon as you drop your jig in. With clear water, you can have a visibility of up to several feet. When the water is stained/turbid, you could have a visibility from 1" to a foot or more. Just depends the lake and various factors, such as sediment, weather, current, etc.

Water clarity
If you can see 2', that's pretty dog' gone' clear!
I would consider Greers clear and Conway Stained.
Anything after a heavy rain would typically be muddy.
