A 72 year old man fell through Hubbard Lake here in Northeast Michigan. and drowned. He was fishing on 10" of ice. Hit a pressure crack or air bubble. Be careful out there. Been several other rescues this week. Ice is never really safe, not even 10"

That is sad! Like you say ice is never really safe. One needs to be careful all the time.
Two kids 11 &12 fell through the Saginaw river yesterday. The 12 year old got out and then pulled off his shirt to use to pull his friend to safety . Pretty smart thinking for a kid that age. Both went to the hospital and are OK.
