Does the 700-1100 series still allow you to turn NMEA output on/off? If so does it still output RMB and RMC data? Working on something.

I believe most humminbirds that are GPS capable you can turn nmea on/off ..as for the output sequences, I'm not sure on that.
I have not checked this in many years but believe that we still do CP.
CP, the 998 lets you turn nmea 0183 on and off. There are 3 ways to get NMEA 0183 out on HB's the gps has a pigtail that has ground and + for NMEA out of the head unit and + for NMEA out of the GPS puck both at 4800 baud. For the new GPS-HS is 38400 with nmea on. Greg was looking into if the GPS puck NMEA + out got locked to 38400 if connected with Head unit set to NMEA output off for me.
The 3rd way is to buy the AS-HHGS cable and go from the head unit to what nmea device, with less than 6.57 software it is variable baud, I think if it detects AIS attached it locks to 38400.
• Green Wire, GPS NMEA Out
• Black Wire, Ground
• White Wire, Control Head NMEA Out
• If the GPS Receiver/Heading Sensor (AS GPS HS) is connected to
the control head, and NMEA Output is turned on, the control head will
operate exclusively at a baud rate of 38400. If there is an accessory
attached to the Sensor’s pigtail, it also needs to operate at 38400. See
your accessory installation guide to set the baud rate to 38400.
• If a GPS Receiver (AS GR16, AS GR50, AS GRP) is connected to the
control head, and NMEA Output is turned on, the control head will
operate exclusively at a baud rate of 4800. If there is an accessory
attached to the Sensor’s pigtail, it also needs to operate at 4800.
Sorry, did not read your post correctly. Via the head unit either way it is once per second. I do not know if from the puck you can get NMEA out at the 4 per second update that the unit sees via the com cable from the puck.
I’m still checking on that baud rate CJ.
I’ll have to get someone else to confirm the output CP. I don’t have the equipment to do that anymore.
Once per second Cane Pole and yes on the RMB and RMC sentences.
I'm not understanding something or just dense CJ, so I am still working on getting you and answer.
Greg, maybe this will help. I'd like to get the AS GPS HS but my DCS VHF radio will only do 4800 baud nmea 0183. I like to know if I connected the green and black wires to my radios nmea 0183 input and leave the nmea output in my 998 setup menu to off will I get get nmea output from the pigtail at 4800?
My thinking here is that there is a reason the pigtail has 2 different nmea outputs.
