I use Sallys have used super glue but Sallys does the job and cheaper and easier to keep.
No reason to use superglue really. Even just Sally's is a bit much for me as I use clear high gloss lacquer (Sally Henson's Hard as Nails is just Lacquer like most fingernail polish)and thinned with MEK. I bought a Qt. can of Lacquer and MEK and doubt I will ever use it all. I mix that 50/50
What Skip said. There is a needle nose applicator bottle that makes it super easy to get the stuff where you want it, about 4 bucks at BPS and other shops.
Regardless of whether it's needed or not, it can only be better WITH. The trick is applying it sparingly without a hard build up. The applicator Skeet spoke of works good but I run a thinned bead of SH on my thread before last wrap over chenille, just before whip.

Walgreen's is good about putting some of the nail polish on sale. I picked up some 2 for $1.
I use cheap water based cement on feather/chenille jigs. Never had a problem with them coming unwrapped. On bucktail, however, I use super glue and let them sit overnight. It's tough to set, even with heavy thread and tight wrapping.
Don't really use any of it anymore. 3 or 5 turn whip finish and I'm done.
