Electronics question
I have about made my mind up on a fish finder. I am very interested in a HB 898C SI. I don't really want to put out the money for a SI for the front and back. I am thinking about putting a cheaper model with GPS on the console and puttting the 898C on the trolling motor. As some say, we fish from the front. I know it's easier to just idle around and see things faster behind the steering wheel but I don't want to shell out that much. Does this make sense? Another question is where have you guys found the best prices on fish finders? I am getting quotes from the crappie.com sponsors now. I figured that was the best place to start.

Brian at BBG marine is top notch. I don't have the si but if it was me I would buy a unit that could be linked to the 898 to share way points. I'd call Brian and let him walk you through what you need.

Electronics question
Cray is spot on, Brian from BBG. I have bought a 1198 & 958 both from Brian. He does what he says he will do!

i thank you all most need di on front for vertical jiging or to get on top of what you see with si but dont quote me on that, but an option as far as buy two si is to buy extra transducer and mount for the trolling motor and just move the unit back and forth just dont drop it in the lake

You guys are right. BBG did come in cheaper than anyone else. He sounds like a great person to work with. I'm sure the rest of them are great too, by the way.
