plum bayou - hot water!!
went to plum bayou on sunday eve., and didn't catch anything. There is still a lot of water in there, main channel ranged from 5 ft to 8 ft. they are pumping water in from the river also, as well as farmers pumping the fields up from it. water in, water out. I did notice a lot of that duckweed on the clubbs ramp, it cleared up around half way around the bend. water was over 90 degrees though!! I bet those fish are nauseated from the heat. Water has cleared up a lot from april/may when i was out there last. Didn't fish very long either, but did have a chance to go boat riding with the wife.

Hey Randy -
Glad you could get out for a little while. It's HOT. That about sums it up. You can still catch a few fish on the Little Maumelle right now. I went this morning and caught 12 or 13 crappie and a bucketmouth. I lost about 5 other nice crappie at the boat. They are holding in 17-20' of water at about 12-15' deep. I would have stayed and caught a few more, but the heat just isn't worth it. Planning on going for a nightstalk tomorrow night with Gooch on Lake Maumelle. If you or anyone else want to meet us out there, you're more than welcome.

thanks ceb,
I'm gettin ready for a trip to buffalo river floating w/ the family & have a dinner date w/ the wife, or i would take you up on it. We'll get together this fall & hit plum bayou, clear lake or my home lake (mound lake) for some crappie action.
