Anybody know the difference between the AS GR50 & the new AS GRP Antennas?
Good question wiskers......i was wondering also and if you can hook external atenna to a 788 hd di... I was.down on blood river this fall and my mapping was jumping every direction...
Mine and a friend's does the same thing! Mine has been back to HB once & it's still screwed up.
I'm pretty sure you can add an external GPS antenna but that an added $140!
This is the 2nd unit with an internal antenna that I've had to send back. I'm about to give up on'um.
I thought it was a gps issue.........DONUT and it didn't know where it was.......i always keep course up and it would jump north ,south ,east ,west.....looks like i need to call humminbird
Is there anything blocking the singnal like a windshield or something, i have a lowrance and a humminingbird and had to move them from behind windshield, then they did ok
I think the AS GRP is just the new name for the AS GR50....
(The HB website does not show the AS GR50 anymore Accessories :: System Modules :: GPS Receivers :: Humminbird)...
The AS GPS HS will be a completely different antenna....(http://store.humminbird.com/products/604403/AS_GRP -click the down arrow next to the AS GRP on the HB website)...
Terry...you may want to wait until the AS GPS HS is available....it's supposed to have the same accuracy as the AS GRP, but with an added "Heading Sensor" which will allow the boat icon to continue to show pointing in the direction the heading sensor is pointing even while stationary...(notice I said the boat icon will "continue to show" not "boat icon will continue to move"...)
