I think Garman and Simrad are already using Chirp..
CHIRP Technology | Yachting Magazine
Those brands are usually more found in salt water applications...where Lowrance and Humminbird are predominate in fresh water...but who knows...
It wouldn't surprise me to see the technology in a 'rance or a 'bird in the future..
I think Lowrance already advertises "Broadband Sonar" but I do not know if its the same as Chirp...

Looked it up, good for really deep water.
Looks like maybe the Lowrance Gen2 Touch & non-Touch are capable of Chirp with some sort of added BSM-2 CHIRP module...(read the entire thread)...(verification is around post #24)..

Chirp is new to me...I understand the concept but ....I must learn more...
Rickie
Ouch....this BSM-2 CHIRP module is $1800 by itself..then you need an Airmar xducer on top of that...:yikes

All these add on's are too expensive for me, the hb 360 is $2000.
This a copy and paste from Jason Gilstrap (Low pro staffer) in a thread on BBC.
Sorry it took so long to get back at this question, but I had make sure I get the right information.
“The HDS line of products are not Chirp compatible and are not compatible with the BSM-2. This technology is currently reserved for our Simrad line of products.”

And also here where Kjellzon is already, in fact, testing the CHIRP on a Gen2 Touch 12 starting at post #24....

Kjellzon even provides screenshots at post #40 and #42...
I truly respect any prostaff...but they can be given misinformation also...
