well no fishing here today was raining and noone would go with me hate fishing by myself . and now it says on the weather that we are to get 6-10 inches of snow by sat go figure guess i waited to long here or may just have to tough it out and try a snowy crappie day lol.
Ive got many crappie in the snow yellow perch too.Maybe you ll get to ice fish soon ,personally I hope to have a mild winter like last year down here its cheaper on the heat bill and nicer to fish in .
Scott,
I agree with Tear. Some of my best days were when it was snowing.
Tear,
Nice job on the crappie. I'm still working on issues with the boat so I have been fishing some of my shorline spots with little success. I keep hearing you should have been here 2 weeks ago. I'm off the next 2 weeks so maybe I can get the boat going and score some slabs.
Mike
I'm sure we've all heard the you shoulda been here stories to many times I know I have .lol The rock are going crazy right off the beach and in the inlets rite now but I guess Ive gotten lazy or just like crappie fishin to much and just been taking the jon and doing that instead of the maycraft in the ocean like I used to,anyway hope you get your boat right and go get em ,good luck.
Thanks Tear. I did catch some Rock up to 25 inches with my crappie lures. They wouldn't take any surface lures so I just ripped a bobber over the surface with a 2 inch plastic shad 2 feet below. They hammered that setup. They were still in the back tributaries last week.
Mike, I was fishing Middle river on Wednesday, this week, using the same set up and had good success... old school, but effective. YP, LM, Pickeral, Rock, all shallow. No slabs however and ML was dead for me.
They were catching a few slabs 4 weeks ago but you know how that place is. If you find them you better stay on them because they will be gone. We were in the same neck of the woods. All the YP and LM I have been catching there have been small except one 2 1/2 pound LM. Even the gills have been small with one or two bulls.
I think I might head out tomorrow. The water was high when I got off work. 25 to 35 mph wind tomorrow with gusts to 55. The wind won't stop me, but the wife might.
