Todays Throwdown Dec. 15, 2012...The Talquin Version
What a great competition we had today. As I have said in the past, any given lake can be beat on any given day. Today was no exception to this statement with some friendly competition on 2 of Florida's great crappie lakes. The bite at Talquin has been all but stopped for the past week and finally picked up some yesterday afternoon and this morning. Some good fish were caught yesterday afternoon on both lakes but the bigger fish just wasn't cooperating at either lake....(I think Stu just had a lucky horseshoe in his tackle box today:notworthy...)Considering these 2 lakes, the weights at weigh in was low for both lakes and we just came up a few ounces on the short end today, but several good fish were caught. I roughly figured up the weight for the 7 big fish that Slab and I had and we roughly had 10 lbs 3 0z, with all of our fish in the livewell at 1lb 4oz and better. We ended up with 15 fish so thats not a bad morning at all. Most boats that came in had very similar results. Fortunately for both lakes, we had pretty good weather with little or no wind. With the exception of the fog, it was a beautiful morning to be on either lake. Congratulations to Team Monroe for coming out on top of this contest!!...But just remember, March is just around the corner and Team Talquin will be ready!!!
We now present you with the trophy to hold for us until March:fingerdance Great Job, Guys and Gals from Monroe!!!
