For me, crappie are somewhat like real estate: location, location, location. And, keep reading this site; there are lots of good tips here. And practice, practice practice..and oh yeah, throw in some luck also ! :) Hiring a good guide for a trip is also a worthwhile thing to do--that can shorten your learning curve!

neumsky It took me a long time to figure those crappie out. I finally gave up. then I meet a guy I used to work with that was a crappie die hard. started going with him and his dad. they taught me a lot. still by no means a pro but I can at least catch enough to stink the skillet up. now that I moved back where I was raised I have to relearn the lakes down here. I have sardis, broken bow, McGee creek ,hugo, south end of eufala, and pine creek wiyh in a hours drive. good luck don't give up. if you get a chance give ranger or eb a call they can teach a person a lot. also get on here often you can get a lot of tips from these guys.
