I'm sure someone has asked this before but I looked back and couldn't find anything so thought I would ask the experts, how in the world do you get eyes on the jig if all you are using is powder paint?

Lots of information on this, but many people use craft paint applied using flat ended drill bits with a coat of hard as nails. I learned that on this forum and it works just fine.
They can be done but it takes a lot of practice. A lot of the folks are using stick on eyes and then clear coating over them, or using regular paint with a clear coat.
I use both Acrylic and some time enamel. If Acrylic I use Sally Henson's as clear coat over them except on Chart or FL Yellow and then I use clear vinyl! I also use drill bits with a flat end to make the eyes!
I have tried and tested many paints and here are my conclusions. The best paint that does not melt or run with plastic baits is vinyl paint. Do-It Molds: Vinyl Lure and Jig Finish The second best that does not mess with plastic is acrylic paint. Specifically Createx Wicked paints.http://www.dickblick.com/products/cr...ors/#mainphoto I have not tested lacquer paints but a good friend of mine uses them in his taxadermy shop.Paint Kits I use vinyl paints and we use vinyl in the jig shop I work at sometimes. The CSI Coatings paint has to be thinned down a lot and you have to use there thinner for best results. I use wooden dowels that I make different sizes with a large pencil trimmer. There is a product that is called liquid powder that you can make powder paint liquefied. Here are 2 articles on the subject. I have not tried this but I have used paint thinner and it was a mess.Liquid-Powder 32oz - Caswell Inc
Liquid Powder Hope this helps!
I usually use acrylic paint you get in most craft stores and then go over with a glossy polyurethane.
