Bathtubs and Barrels

Is it just me? Driving around the banks of Eufaula this past weekend seeing all the bathtubs, barrels, and t-posts to tie them too, I couldn't help but be a little annoyed at the folks who use this technique to fish. Not only does it trash up the lake but if you've ever hit one of those things with your boat you will not like it. I was wondering if emails to the Corp might create some thought for cleanup actions. I don't begrudge anyone their rights to fish but I can't help thinking this needs to be stopped.

AMEN X2..cost me a prop 1 time from hitting a tub..but if you think about it, its not much different than us the crappie fisheman putting a big ole tree in the water and not sinking it deep enough..But I totally agree with the clean up idea..I am all over that idea and would certainly be there to lend a helping hand....Ranger

It is illegal "to use and/or place into lakes and reservoirs of this state" any structure, etc. which attract fish into an open cavity within the container. I know of no such state statute applying to brush piles.
