Was able to take my 77 year old uncle out for a few hours over the holiday weekend while he was in town. First time he had been in a few years. He always had time to take his nephews when I was growing up, and it was a great pleasure to be able to spend a little time with him on the water again.
Nice catch. I always enjoy taking folks that took me out when I was younger. Feels good to pay it back a little bit.
That does bring back memories.
I would carry a gallon of gas, stop and get a few dozen minnows and head to my uncle's house. He would have the boat hitched onto the truck when I got there. So off we would go to the lake. He loved to fish but sent them all home with me. He went through kemo treatments last year. So getting him out of the house is a task.
