how many of you jig tyers only fish your jigs, or do you fish other baits also?
i enjoy using what i have tied but do not limit myself to just that, i use a wide range of baits including jigs that i have bought.
I mostly use my jigs, but since I started selling Slab Bandits I plan on fishing them some too. I mostly use Roadrunner I tie in the spring, like 95% of the time. Summer, mostly at night I use a minnow 15" to 18" above one of my heavier jigs. It's been like this for years now and if I had to put a % on other baits I have used it would be less than 2% of the time. I have a lot of soft plastic's, but can't get excited over them all that much so they sit and will force my self to use the Bandits mostly because I believe in them and the Jet-Zits. I plan on drop shotting them in the spring shallow and trolling the Jet-Zits.
We deftly use our jigs when we are fishing but we definitely use other jigs that guys have tied on here also it is kind of fun to see what type results that you will get from some of the best jig Tyers there can be had on crappie.com.
I fish my home made creations 95% of the time. Once in a while I use some plastics.Quote:

I use my hand ties a lot, but when fishing grabby stuff I use plastics and a bare head. I hate losing jig after jig when I have so much time invested in them. I give a lot away also, trying to help folks learn something new.
98% of the time I use the jigs and soft plastic lures I create. The rest of the time I use Lindy or YUM products.
