I have fished it quite a few times this year. You can troll or brush fish. Its about 17ft average depth in the middle and average depth of 10ft deep from about 6 feet off the bank. We have been catching them trolling in about 11 feet of water about 7 feet deep. Lots of bream to be caught also just fishing the brush and banks. Have plenty of fuel, its about 9 miles long.:)
I looked on a map, can't find it, give some directions.
I looked at a map last nite. The only Burnt Cane I can find is southeast of Forest City

Ok, Burnt Cane is on Hwy 50, east of Widener, AR. I need directions to the lake.
The last time I was there, which has been several years ago, I took interstate 40 west. You'll see the widner exit. Go due south of there. The town of Widner is off the interstate several miles. When in Widner,if my memory is correct, go over the railroad tracks, stay straight. The last time I went this way those good ole country boys had the dirt road tore up with their 4 wheel drives. That being said, your goal is to get up on top of the levee, which is to your right. So make your way to the levee and once on top, take a left. It is not too far down and it is on the left. The last time I was there, there was not much of a ramp, you should have no problem launching a boat if it is not muddy.Maybe they have repaired the dirt road going to the levee from the town of Widner, who knows. That is the fastest way to get there.
Another way, but longer is you can take interstate 40 west and get off on HWY 79 going towards Hughes. 79 will take you to Marianna. Before you get to Marianna you will see a big sign the says Huxtable Pumping Plant on your right, the levee crosses HWY 79, off 79 take a right onto the levee and Burntcane is quite a ways down on your right.
I hope this helps, if you get over there and get lost or have problems, pm me before you go and I'll give you my cell phone number and come help you out if need be. My mother lives not far from widner in forrest City.

There is a creek liking place south of Widener about 7 miles that has a boat ramp. It looks to be about 9 miles long. It runs between St. Francis river and the division ditch. Lakeside is about middle ways.
This is what I see on this map.
From I 40 take the Widner Exit (HY 38) and go south 2.4 miles into Widner. Go over the train tracks and once over the tracks take the county road SFC 713 (this will be the dirt road going south) Go 3.2 miles south on SFC 713 and Burnt Cane will be on the east side of the levee.
This is the shortest way to the lake.
Lakeside is about 2/3 down the lake on the south bank of the lake.
