Will be visiting Poverty Point for the first time on November the 26th. Can anyone get me headed in the right direction to catch some crappie. I fish out of kayak and use jigs.

I haven't been there in a while, but the few reports I have received haven't been pinpointed them as deep or mid-depth. I am sure someone will chime in to offer better advice than I can. It is a small lake, so I would just look for the other boats and that should point you in the right direction. You can drive to the marina and see if people are fishing the boat slips or drive down the road down on the East side and see if they are fishing the coves. I believe the coves on the Eastern part of the place are where the deeper areas are.
Thanks for your help
The easiest place for a kayak would be to put in at the marina on the north end of the lake and fish around the boat slips. I don't fish there but think the ones on the east side is where the deepest water is.
Or you could put in at the south landing. There's a deep slough just out from the launch area that holds white perch (you can id it by the dead tree/stump line). You can also go all the way across the lake to the east side to where the houses are and fish the old Bayou Macon channel but it would be a pretty long paddle across open water.
I do best using a gray/chartreuse hair jig, Pink Panther Stinger Shad, or black/chartreuse tube jig.
