Lookin' For Some Good Kansas Bowhunting Areas

Hi guys, I,m Slabbandit from Lake Nimrod in WestCentral AR. I'm thinking about picking up the ole stick and string again next year and hunting with my son, who pretty much bow hunts exclusively.
We've heard a lot about the big Kansas whitetails and have seen some awesome pictures. If anybody can help us get pointed in the right direction to start trying to locate a place for just He and I to hunt next year, your help would be greatly appreciated! If we can, either one of us can help out anybody wanting to visit Nimrod or Dardanelle with the best tips on fishing at the current times.

To be honest the best public ground is the walk in hunting areas. Most hunters drive around not walk around. I would think down in Ark with all that lumber company owned areas you would be able to quietly get a nice one down around Star City / Monticello area. We do have deer all over the place around here and some big ones but you can travel closer in state and get one just as big or bigger. One of those Grey Ghosts I keep hearing about from my buddy who live down around Bayou Bartholomew

But if you still want to come I can direct you to a couple of big ones but you are going to work for them and then hump them out once you get them

Thanks for the info. We know some folks that bowhunt somewhere private in Kansas and they do pretty well on 140"+ deer. We just thought it would make a great Father/Son excursion.

My fishing buddy has over 1000 acres on prime bottom ground, river area, he farms, also a lot of CRP with corps next to the area, a number on 140 to 150 and bigger, I have seen huge deer on his property helping him with his crops. If interested contact me, this is not a free hunt. He has a few folks from NJ that he host every year and they always take a good buck back. Quality hunt here, lodging food and guided or self guided up to you. Great area good deer. Hit me back here if interested.
