Ville today
Clients didnt get down here untill 11 today so we had a late start but found the fish nicely and got the triple limit pretty quick. What an absolutely beautiful november day... low winds, sun, and crappies bitin! We fished the main lake around coal shaft and targeted 5-9 foot of water. The deeper fish were actually not as active today, which was reverse from saturday in the same area. We fished 8th and quarter ounce heads in HookItBait lightwire jigheads as well as the birdman special tube and ky lake killer from them. We managed our second 2lb fish in as many trips. He weighed 2lbs on the dot on my scale. Pretty neat to see especially since I think dad and I have only had one other 2lb fish from the ville in our boat ever. This one is still swimmin too! Fun for the week is over for me now. 2 tests, 2 papers, and a presentation due by friday then thanksgiving break!

Nice job Tyler! We were out and caught many, but mostly unders. They were absolutely hammering tubes, vertical jigging. Pam doesn't vertical jig well, so I switched to slow trolling for her. She had many fish, but nothing of any size. We got out around 11:30, because she would be cold. Regardless, she got cold about 3:00, at the nicest part of the day. Tomorrow is my birthday and she said she would go early for me, but we'll see...

Good job birdie. Got back from up north and me and Delmar made it out for some bank fishin. Managed 14 between us in a few hours, but no bigguns. You can't believe how much I enjoyed getting out.

No wonder i didn't catch anything at coalshft this afternoon at 1 oclock, you already got them, LOL. Good job Tyler. I'm going to have to get up to Wilburn and walk those banks and give jerry and rick a hard time.

Welcome back XXL, can't wait to catch up with ya.
Nice job bird... What a pig!
I got out around 12:00 to stomp some banks. hit up just west of fox harbor and caught several. The bite was very light and had to pay close attention to the cork. At about 3:30-4 I drove over to coal shaft and had different luck than you Pat. I caught a lot of fish... And finished out my limit. The best luck was about 6-7' deep. Green and chartreuse bass pro bass assassin thingy. If the cork really popped... Smaller fish(8.5-10.5"). If the pear cork just flipped on its side... Bigger fish. After completing my limit I threw back 2 12" crappie and 4-5 11+"
i just couldn't stop casting! It was beautiful out, but when the sun went down, wish I had my coat!
Pat text me ur number again... Didn't get it saved... Even looked under bowhunter in my phone!!!

Wow! Seemed like y'all had a good time today! I didn't make it out. Truthfully, I figured that cold front would've knocked the bite down for a few days. Guess I was wrong. I may have to try that Birdman special tube!

Id say people are catchin em all over, cool stuff! I love to bank fish myself. Love that cork action!!
Jerry- Welcome back. Missed your voice here and hope all is well. Hear from you soon!

Dude...birdman, you need to get into duck hunting. Something to fill some of that extra crappie fishing time you seem to have. Nice work! You seem to be doing very well with that guide service, congrats.

It's nice to see a guide and his clients deciding to put a fish of that size back in the lake. Luke and I have been practicing this and the big 14 inch whites are now 15 and I know of a few guys besides myself that have caught fish of that size and released them. We aren't really sure if this helps but it can't hurt.
Shelbyville is a great fishery but I talked to a fisherman the other day who reminded me that not too long ago the fishing wasn't that great. Gestures like this I think will help the lake prosper and hopefully there are others following, nice job Birdman!
