I think I'm more excited about setting brush in the lakes this Winter in hopes of better fishing come this next Spring. Been a while since I've been on here but I've been really busy working this Fall. I have deer to kill 1st but after that let the brushing begin, might drop a jig in now and then also:biggrin. I made a rod holder that I've been wanting to set a couple of long poles out in and do some strolling for ol Calvin the Crappie. I'll prolly try some new water also.

Well I'm about ready to head up to your neck of the woods and drop jig! I don't mind the travel too much if you can load the boat when you get there. Gillham lake is closest to where I grew up and now that dads got a small boat I done told him we'd sink brush in that lake even though it can be tougher to find and catch crappie. We done better this past year than we have in the past and with some well placed structure could be better. I'm sure we will make our annual trips to Pine Creek over in OK and if they ever get Blue Mtn back up I'm sure it's on the list. I've been wondering about the Hot Spings Village lakes, if they are open to fish that is cause they aren't too far away. If a lake has good numbers of crappie it's not hard to find and catch them, simple as that, seen it and done it before. Now of all times of the year the hottest part of the Summer can be slower and really this time of the year they often move around more. I'd rather wait till cold weather hits and they are easier to target, not as scattered like in the Fall.Quote:

Well i'll agree seeing a lake low is a good thing.
I know 20 of them that dont care cos they are packed on Ice ready for my cleaning board tomarrow.
