Should I wait on the IPilot Link, or go ahead and get the conventional IPilot?
Nice problem to have!
In a way it is, but looking at it differently, I can only get one or the other. The difference in price looks to be about $300-$400. On the other hand, if you buy the IPilot, then upgrade to the IPilot Link you are looking at another $800. Right now I am leaning toward waiting until the IPilot with the Link comes out, I already have a 998HD so I am good to go there.
I'd wait for I pilot link. I have I pilot now and will get link as soon as it is available. Being able to see your tracks on the screen, being able to see i spots, go to way point. go to track, and setup routes right on screen will be priceless.
Not to mention the added capacity for spots and tracks.
I could be wrong but I think the link is going to be about as good as the spot lock and or track record. Which for the way I fish...useless. It'll most likely wander too much to fish a particular top and to fish a trail, I prefer some manual input rather than a program.
That's my opninion, your mileage may vary.
Wannabe...
Resurreting this thread. I have been waiting since December for the Terrova 80# with iPilot Link to be released. First it was February, then March, now today I am told April 5. What's the deal here? I'm about ready to say the heck with it and just get a Terrova with iPilot and forget the "link"
I just looked bass pro has them in stock? I stopped by there today and got the add on ipilotlink sys.
I see you are from GA, but have Carolina in your username. If this is because you fish some of the lakes in South or North Carolina then the I link if pretty much useless and you will be using the same features as the I-pilot. The I-link follow the contour or offset contour is only available with the compatable Lakemaster chip, Lakemaster does not cover South or North Carolina, which makes it useless. This really disappoints me as I was looking forward to purchasing the i-link myself.
