Was on the water just about all day till almost dark. I was banging cranks off the rocks up north in about 8 fow. I kept the cranks just clacking off the rocks on the bottom and was rewarded with a very nice assortment of fish. Water temp was 53F in the morning as the fog burned off. Long johns for me were a must. Speed was about 0.8-1.2mph but the bite was on and but by 2pm I was culling fish....the bite really turned on around 3pm in the open water. Cream/green were working almost all day for me but I did have to troll deeper in the open water to get the bigger fish as shallower trolling the little ones were killing me.
Jeremiah did not go with me as he and his momma sat next to the fire all day, but he did have to get his picture taken with a few fish. He stayed home because he got his first puppy yesterday. A German short hair / Blue Heeler mix...named her Anna Belle. Fishing with dad when its cold just does not compete with a new puppy....sounds like a great excuse to me.
